Welcome to the home of the Blue Lacy Kennels. We got our first Lacy Game Dogs in November of 2004. They were a Christmas present for
Jerry. We first learned of the Lacy Game Dog through an article in the September 2004 issue of "Texas Highways". Our first experience
with Lacy Game Dogs began in November when we picked up our male and female (Skip and Mitzi) and Skip's full brother Jack for a friend
of ours. What an experience it has been. Our kennels has grown now by another little female (Lil Ann) who is out of Mitzi's litter
born in 2008. Lil Ann belongs to Hugh. There are 3 owners of Blue Lacy Kennels: Jerry Tidwell, Deann Tidwell, and Hugh Tidwell. As
for me (Deann) I have never been much of a dog person but, Lacy's seem to have a way of making you love them. Now I don't know what
I would do without a Lacy. Each of us are actively involved with our Lacy's. We want each of you to feel free to contact us and ask
questions. The one thing we do not want is for you get a Lacy Game dog and be unhappy with them and them unhappy with you. Lacy's
are a unique dog and DO NOT fit into all lifestyles. They are very active, very smart, and very unique. If you do not keep them busy
they will find something to do and it will probably not be something you want them to do. We have both extremes of the Lacy's. Skip, our
male is on the far end of alpha and must be kept busy or he will be in trouble. Mitzi is on the other end of the spectrum. I can leave
her in the house and not worry about anything. She is loving, docile, playful, fun. She however has another side that comes out when
she is hunting and is VERY aggressive. This something always seems to be something of mine. I am not sure why but, he seems to
take it out on me if he is upset about anything. Lil Ann is a complex little girl. She is laid back in a lot of ways. I can leave
her in her room and she is fine. However, she is definitely alpha and has taken Skip on more than once. The first time was at about
6 months. We got involved with the Lacy Game Dogs when there were only about 300 registered Lacy's left in the world. We were involved
in helping to get them recognized as the state of Texas dog. It has been an interesting trek and we are looking forward to a long
trek to go. Please check out the tidbit page.
